TESTIMONIALS
Here's what some of my clients say about working with me.

“I wanted to thank you - you’re the coach I never knew I needed ❤️ I have smashed my 365 day challenge today!! I simply couldn’t have done it without you. When I first saw your talk I felt a connection, a shift and I knew I had to make contact. You made me feel safe. You understood. You listened. You never judged. Like a toddler in the wilderness you held my hand, kept my chest up high and wiped away the tears. You gave me strength and encouragement when I needed it. You also gave me a very needed gentle nudge every now and again. Over time I’ve learnt to stand on my own two feet, but your lessons and words ring in my ears daily….

When I started my work with Jo I was 3 months alcohol free. I felt I needed support to continue as the temptation to start drinking again became stronger. AA did not appeal to me. A friend of mine recommended Jo and she gave me her contact. Jo and I had a discovery call to see if we would be a good fit. I was very depressed when we spoke and what I found so amazing about Jo is that, even though I had never met her, she was able to make me feel held and supported. I could feel her genuine love coming through the phone. Needless to say we both felt our partnership would work and we went ahead to book the first session.
This is what it is, a partnership. You both put in the work. And hard work it is too. Jo is always available for additional support outside the weekly talks. She also intuitively messaged me to check in with how I was doing and that made me feel so much better. It is wonderful she has that intuition as it makes you feel truly connected which is super important to me. Her messages always came at just the right time. Magical!…

Over the past six months, Jo has been an unwavering source of support and guidance during my sobriety challenge. Without her invaluable assistance, I can honestly say that I would have struggled immensely.
From day one, Jo was there for me, offering her expertise, wisdom, and understanding at any time I needed it. Her commitment to my journey was evident as she consistently provided me with the encouragement and advice necessary to stay focused on my goal.
Whenever I felt overwhelmed or tempted to revert to old habits, Jo was right there, talking complete sense and reminding me of the reasons why I embarked on this path…

I started my journey with Jo focused on leaving behind the ‘want’ & ‘need’ to occupy my free ‘fun’ time with a drink in my hand. As a task orientated individual who gets a dopamine hit from ticking off goals, I thought “lets aim for 90 days without alcohol and see what happens”! I had no idea what to expect from Jo or indeed myself.
Then BOOM! The penny dropped! Life isn’t about focusing on avoiding something (cup half empty), its about focusing on what brings you joy and filling your cup up! (Stolen from Jo herself).
Jo’s coaching style has navigated me through some tricky parts personally and allowed me to give myself permission to stop, breathe and focus on investing in myself…. Something that most of us on the planet are completely rubbish at.
It may sound corny, but Jo has literally saved my life! There are so many of us who reach a certain age and start reflecting on what’s next and it can be terrifying, but Jo’s warmth, patience and passion for what she does it remarkable. A diamond in the rough, who I now classify as a friend as well as a life coach. Yes I said life coach! I have forgotten the aim of not having a drink (which I haven’t btw) because I am having way too much fun trying to find out what else I can throw myself at in stage 2 of life journey….

Since giving up drinking with the help of Sober Jo and the group program, back in March 2022, my confidence, wellbeing and outlook and life in general have gone from strength to strength
Coaching that started with a sober focus has seamlessly led to 1:1 life coaching, looking at goals and aspirations whilst managing fears and disruptive thought processes.
Together we have worked on my fear of public speaking which enabled me to pass a panel interview for a promotion at work with flying colours and more recently, the management of my nerves on performing.
If someone would have said to me 12 months ago that I would be competing in a UK championships solo event and be able to manage my nerves in the lead-up and on the rink and perform like I can at home during training and enjoy it, I would never have believed it. But it’s true, it was the best competing experience of my life and its all thanks to Jo’s support, mentoring, coaching and most of all her belief in me.
I am so excited for my next challenge with Jo. I feel like the possibilities are now endless.
Thank you so much Jo.

If you’re reading these testimonials, then you’re probably considering your relationship with alcohol. Maybe you’re even thinking of working with Jo and going sober. Maybe you have a few doubts - do I really want to give up booze? Is it really that much of a problem? - but you’re here on this page, thinking about it - which says a lot…
I was you once - doing exactly the same thing. And I say take the plunge - go for it!
I’d reached my 46th birthday and had a horrible realisation that I’d been using alcohol as a social crutch for 30 years. Even though it made me miserable and anxious, I couldn’t imagine life without booze. Surely it would be boring. Surely I would be boring.
Then I heard Jo telling her story on a podcast. And she was FUN and interesting and full of joy. Her sober life wasn’t boring - it sounded like a life I wanted. With confidence and energy and really great skin! I knew instinctively that this was the person I needed to help me go sober.
Jo has done that and so much more…

I have recently worked with Jo on her 12 week 1 2 1 coaching program, and I simply cannot speak highly enough about both Jo and the program itself. The program is well structured, and the weekly topics are intuitive giving you the opportunity to reflect upon where you are in life and where you want to be.
Jo is so much more than a sober coach – she can help with so many other areas in your life, self- esteem and self-belief, relationships, empowerment, emotional well-being and growth, motivation and achieving your goals.
Jo is fantastic at helping you help yourself she has boundless energy and enthusiasm both for life and for you as her client, she is empathetic, totally non-judgemental, caring, and warm.
Jo’s coaching is soulful and holistic …

“Thank you so much for coming and doing such an excellent job of raising the benefits and options for a life of sobriety, the risk of an enthusiastic sociable drinking being a ‘booze bully’ and the line not about necessarily encouraging sobriety but being ‘mindful’ in your drinking. I loved the way that you co-presented with Andy and that he provided such lovely drinks, suitable for morning meeting, focusing not on missing out but on having delicious and wholesome alternatives as opposed to necessarily replicating alcohol with a like for like alternative. I am currently doing dry January with no intention of attempting lifelong sobriety, but is has made me rethink that, and to at least be ‘mindful’ and ruling out being thirsty before seeking a refreshing alcoholic drink!
I’ve had emails from staff thanking us for working together to get the conversation going about alcohol and saying that it’s been really useful and well timed. I am definitely a Gimber girl and look forward to receiving my first order of full sized bottles now the shot samples are finished!!
Thank you for being so open in sharing your story, this is where the real power lies.”

“What a positive experience working with Jo. I am so thankful that the universe made our paths cross and she made time in her already full schedule to coach me.
I truly had no idea what to expect from a coach, especially around the topic of alcohol, which people natural jump to the conclusion that you have whisky on your cornflakes. To counter the popular belief, a lot of people just have a bad relationship with alcohol, and that can be just feeling horrid after a single night out a week.
Jo has developed an amazing toolset which cover discovery through to sustaining a healthy life for the foreseeable future.

“We reached out to Jo to give a presentation to our team about their relationship with alcohol and how this can impact their wellbeing as part of one of wellbeing initiatives. Jo shared her personal journey and shared some really great insight into sobriety. Jo's honest and empathetic approach made the presentation very relatable and genuine. Thank you Jo for sharing with our Team and inspiring us to consider our wellbeing.”

“I reached out to Jo after a pretty grotty year after losing my lovely dad and having to focus on professional qualification exams. I was struggling to manage my mood and my motivation. I was so stressed and confused that I couldn’t make decisions at all, and I was struggling to do things for me (I have always been a bit of a people pleaser).

“Before I started Sober Jo’s group program, I was in a pretty uncertain and unhappy place for quite some time. I wouldn’t say that I considered myself to be a big drinker, but I knew my relationship with drink wasn’t a healthy one. When I did have a drink, I’d drink too much and couldn’t quite handle it, which created problems…”

“The reason I chose Jo as a coach is because I was drawn to her energy, honesty and relatability. I knew from the discovery call that there would be no judgment whatsoever, Jo tells it like it is and brings out the absolute best in you. Her positivity and confidence are infectious and you leave your session feeling like you can tackle anything…”
