TESTIMONIALS
Here's what some of my clients say about working with me.
Daisy
“Jo introduced me to EFT during one of our sessions, and I can’t recommend it (or her!) highly enough. It’s a really powerful tool to explore feelings you can’t quite articulate verbally.
When you’re holding on to an unhelpful feeling or tension, Jo can help you shift it from your body and mind with tapping and affirmations. I wasn’t sure what to expect but found it pretty miraculous. Give it a try - it’s a very special experience!”

I started my journey with Jo focused on leaving behind the ‘want’ & ‘need’ to occupy my free ‘fun’ time with a drink in my hand. As a task orientated individual who gets a dopamine hit from ticking off goals, I thought “lets aim for 90 days without alcohol and see what happens”! I had no idea what to expect from Jo or indeed myself.
Then BOOM! The penny dropped! Life isn’t about focusing on avoiding something (cup half empty), its about focusing on what brings you joy and filling your cup up! (Stolen from Jo herself).
Jo’s coaching style has navigated me through some tricky parts personally and allowed me to give myself permission to stop, breathe and focus on investing in myself…. Something that most of us on the planet are completely rubbish at.
It may sound corny, but Jo has literally saved my life! There are so many of us who reach a certain age and start reflecting on what’s next and it can be terrifying, but Jo’s warmth, patience and passion for what she does it remarkable. A diamond in the rough, who I now classify as a friend as well as a life coach. Yes I said life coach! I have forgotten the aim of not having a drink (which I haven’t btw) because I am having way too much fun trying to find out what else I can throw myself at in stage 2 of life journey….

Since giving up drinking with the help of Sober Jo and the group program, back in March 2022, my confidence, wellbeing and outlook and life in general have gone from strength to strength
Coaching that started with a sober focus has seamlessly led to 1:1 life coaching, looking at goals and aspirations whilst managing fears and disruptive thought processes.
Together we have worked on my fear of public speaking which enabled me to pass a panel interview for a promotion at work with flying colours and more recently, the management of my nerves on performing.
If someone would have said to me 12 months ago that I would be competing in a UK championships solo event and be able to manage my nerves in the lead-up and on the rink and perform like I can at home during training and enjoy it, I would never have believed it. But it’s true, it was the best competing experience of my life and its all thanks to Jo’s support, mentoring, coaching and most of all her belief in me.
I am so excited for my next challenge with Jo. I feel like the possibilities are now endless.
Thank you so much Jo.

If you’re reading these testimonials, then you’re probably considering your relationship with alcohol. Maybe you’re even thinking of working with Jo and going sober. Maybe you have a few doubts - do I really want to give up booze? Is it really that much of a problem? - but you’re here on this page, thinking about it - which says a lot…
I was you once - doing exactly the same thing. And I say take the plunge - go for it!
I’d reached my 46th birthday and had a horrible realisation that I’d been using alcohol as a social crutch for 30 years. Even though it made me miserable and anxious, I couldn’t imagine life without booze. Surely it would be boring. Surely I would be boring.
Then I heard Jo telling her story on a podcast. And she was FUN and interesting and full of joy. Her sober life wasn’t boring - it sounded like a life I wanted. With confidence and energy and really great skin! I knew instinctively that this was the person I needed to help me go sober.
Jo has done that and so much more…

“Thank you so much for coming and doing such an excellent job of raising the benefits and options for a life of sobriety, the risk of an enthusiastic sociable drinking being a ‘booze bully’ and the line not about necessarily encouraging sobriety but being ‘mindful’ in your drinking. I loved the way that you co-presented with Andy and that he provided such lovely drinks, suitable for morning meeting, focusing not on missing out but on having delicious and wholesome alternatives as opposed to necessarily replicating alcohol with a like for like alternative. I am currently doing dry January with no intention of attempting lifelong sobriety, but is has made me rethink that, and to at least be ‘mindful’ and ruling out being thirsty before seeking a refreshing alcoholic drink!
I’ve had emails from staff thanking us for working together to get the conversation going about alcohol and saying that it’s been really useful and well timed. I am definitely a Gimber girl and look forward to receiving my first order of full sized bottles now the shot samples are finished!!
Thank you for being so open in sharing your story, this is where the real power lies.”

“Jo coached me for a number of months during 2022, and I wanted to write a testimonial to recommend her coaching.
The issues that made me unhappy and low at the time the coaching began were concerned with the toxic relationship that had developed between myself and one of my daughters, who has mental health problems, including ADHD. Jo was able to use her own experience of ADHD to help me adjust my behaviour to be more tolerant and to find compromises with my daughter.
I can honestly say that I would no longer…

“What a positive experience working with Jo. I am so thankful that the universe made our paths cross and she made time in her already full schedule to coach me.
I truly had no idea what to expect from a coach, especially around the topic of alcohol, which people natural jump to the conclusion that you have whisky on your cornflakes. To counter the popular belief, a lot of people just have a bad relationship with alcohol, and that can be just feeling horrid after a single night out a week.
Jo has developed an amazing toolset which cover discovery through to sustaining a healthy life for the foreseeable future.

“As a professional who does a lot of freelance work and so who works a lot for myself and by myself, I wanted to try working with a coach, someone who I could talk to about my ambitions in life and career and discuss ways I could achieve goals.
“I met Jo on a course before I started working with her. As part of the course she spoke about her Sober Jo programme and her coaching business. I loved her energy, her passion and her genuine investment in helping people through a variety of different journeys, and I came away thinking, I would love to work with her.
When I started working with Jo I didn’t really know what to expect from our time together, I just knew I wanted a space to discover and access to guidance.
Jo is such a warm, bubbly, incredibly caring and genuine person, which is exactly the type of person you need when embarking on a (sometimes difficult) journey of evaluating yourself, your life, your work and your goals and ambitions……”

“Jo attended an event I helped organise promoting healthier relationships with alcohol. Jo took the audience on her personal journey who were able to resonate with her honesty. I think it’s so important to be empathetic in this space, and with her funny anecdotes and humility, she really helped open up the conversation around alcohol with sensitivity and warmth. If I ever have the opportunity to do so, I would love to work with her again. Thank you, Jo, you’re a real role-model.”

“I reached out to Jo after a pretty grotty year after losing my lovely dad and having to focus on professional qualification exams. I was struggling to manage my mood and my motivation. I was so stressed and confused that I couldn’t make decisions at all, and I was struggling to do things for me (I have always been a bit of a people pleaser).

“Sober Jo provided an engaging presentation on her journey of personal change, speaking insightfully about her first-hand experiences in becoming sober. Jo sings high praise of how great it is to be sober – listeners take away positive feelings about a sober change.”

“Before I started Sober Jo’s group program, I was in a pretty uncertain and unhappy place for quite some time. I wouldn’t say that I considered myself to be a big drinker, but I knew my relationship with drink wasn’t a healthy one. When I did have a drink, I’d drink too much and couldn’t quite handle it, which created problems…”

“The reason I chose Jo as a coach is because I was drawn to her energy, honesty and relatability. I knew from the discovery call that there would be no judgment whatsoever, Jo tells it like it is and brings out the absolute best in you. Her positivity and confidence are infectious and you leave your session feeling like you can tackle anything…”

“Jo held such a great space for me. It was a beautiful space. I felt safe and like I could trust her and it led me to open up a lot quicker than I expected and able to lay everything out on the table. It’s changed my life and how I view the world. I am a happier person as a result. A beautiful style of coaching.”

“One of the things I liked about Jo as a coach is her energy. She listens with empathy, whilst helping you see through the emotion with a natural galvanised energy that can quickly move you forward. We met on a weekly basis whilst keeping in contact between sessions, helping to remind me of what I needed to do and made me feel cared for and a priority…”
